Signs worth a closer look

Repair again, or replace?

No single symptom decides it. These are the patterns that usually start the conversation.

  • Repeated repairs

The same problem keeps coming back after it was fixed.

  • An older pump

The pump has been in service for many years and performance is fading.

  • Pressure that won’t hold

Flow stays weak or uneven even after other parts are checked.

  • Supply dropping out

Water stops more often, or takes longer to come back.

No water at all? Call first. We can almost always be there today.

Why Duckett

Same day, almost every time. Priced before we start.

Two promises we keep, in our customers’ own words from Google.

Sometimes under 2 hours

Promise 1 · Same day

There today, almost every time.

Almost every visit happens the same day you call. Sometimes we’re at the door within two hours.

  • “From the time I called the office, a technician was at my house in 9 minutes.”
  • “Fast, friendly and efficient - went the extra mile to purchase needed garbage disposal and install same day.”

Then the work starts

Promise 2 · Written price

The price in writing, first.

The technician finds the cause and writes down the price before any work starts. You decide from there.

  • “…they came out. Diagnosed the problem. Got it fixed at an unbelievable fair rate…”
  • “…did the job in a timely manner, extremely fair priced, cleaned up the site…”

Will and Nate were.so knowledgeable and quickly assessed and diagnosed our issue with our water pressure. In addition, they provided helpful advice for troubleshooting should future issues surface. They were timely and professional and the prices were reasonable. We will call on them for future services.

These guys are awesome. I called and they were on it the next day. We had a water line installed from home down to dock, had a sewer leak, a toilet running, a hot water heater installed and low water pressure. They repaired everything. All the employees were so kind and done more that what they were supposed to do. I highly recommend this company to do a great job.

My son recently inherited a 1945 mill home from his grandparents. The home needs a complete rehab, but we were looking to make it livable until the spring. It’s in a very small town and plumbers willing to take the job are limited. From the very first phone call late on a Friday afternoon about a big water leak, to the completion of the job, Duckett Plumbing exceeded my expectations. These guys are so knowledgeable. They provided me with solid options based on our needs and budget. Wayne was the best! He completed all the work on our very necessary bathroom fixes. New toilet, new shower fixtures and new shower surround. He’s thoughtful of his work and provided the best customer experience. He went so far above and beyond what was requested.

We needed plumbing work done soon and they were able to come to the house the same day and completely finish the work that needed to be done. They came after 6:00 pm pumped the septic tank and made a baffle and was done properly around 8:30 pm. We are very pleased with them!!!!

What to expect

A clear decision before the pump comes out.

  1. Tell us the history

Share what the well is doing, how long it has been happening and any past repairs.

  2. Check the whole supply

A technician looks at the pump, controls, tank and piping so the decision rests on the real cause.

  3. Choose with the facts

Review the findings and the options, with a written price, then decide whether to repair or replace.

More than the pump

A new pump works with the rest of the system.

A replacement is planned around the well, the pressure tank and the controls, so the new pump isn’t asked to make up for another part.

  • The well itselfAccess, the casing and how the existing pump is set.
  • Pump and wiringWhether the fault is the pump, or the power and connections feeding it.
  • Pressure tank and switchParts that control cycling and pressure, and affect pump life.
  • Piping to the homeLeaks or restrictions that can look like a failing pump.

Before you replace

Questions homeowners ask about pump replacement.

The right answer depends on the well, the pump and what the inspection finds.

How do I know the pump needs replacing?

Repeated failures, falling performance and an older pump are common reasons. The inspection confirms whether the pump is the cause, or whether another part is.

Is it always the pump when the water stops?

No. Controls, the pressure switch, the tank, wiring and piping can all interrupt the supply. That’s why the whole system is checked first.

Will you explain the options before starting?

Yes. You’ll review the findings, the available work and the pricing before any repair or replacement begins.

Do you replace the pressure tank at the same time?

Only if it needs it. The tank is checked as part of the system, and you’ll hear what was found before deciding.
